Thank you for giving us this opportunity to introduce you to the Odenton Baptist Church. Odenton is a beautiful, rapidly growing community centrally located between Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, DC. Fort Meade is adjacent to Odenton on the west, and the Baltimore Washington Airport is located just eight miles to the north.

Many Odenton residents work at Fort Meade or with other government agencies or the military; others commute to Washington DC or Baltimore. Odenton Baptist Church, organized in 1967, is well known in our community for its K3 thru 12th grade educational ministry -- the Odenton Christian School. Our school is a traditional school with an enrollment of over 380 students for the 2006-2007 academic year.

Our church is a Fundamental, Independent, Baptist Church. We are Fundamental in that we hold to the historic "fundamentals" of the faith which contrast with liberalism, modernism, and the Charismatic movement. We are Independent as we do not belong to any group, fellowship, affiliation, association, or convention. We are Baptist because we believe the Bible and hold to the historically distinct doctrines by which Baptists have been known.

Our manner of worship is traditional; our Bible (the King James Bible) is the pure word of God, and our gospel (the Lord’s gospel) is older than creation. We seek to please God rather than man and do not stray from these standards of worship, Bible, and gospel.

Our church is a a busy church. We have an active youth group, a bus ministry, weekly soul winning, a nursing home ministry, a children's club, summer camp, vacation Bible school, a Bible Institute which meets weekly, and an excellent Christian day school. If you are looking for a place with opportunities to serve God, OBC is that place.

Odenton Baptist Church supports over 30 missionaries around the world using the Biblically sound faith promise method of missions giving. Our faith promise goal in 2009-10 was over $100,000.00 and we have been thrilled to see God allow us to fulfill it month after month. Mike and Panan Leemon, and John and Connie Lacombe are missionary families called to Thailand, and are sent out from our local church.

We teach and preach only from the pure word of God -- the King James Bible. Our choice of a Bible version is based upon conviction as well as history. Conviction in that we believe God promised to preserve His word (Psalm 12:6-7) and history in that the Bible we use contains the very same verses that have been used by churches since God completed His word in the First Century A.D. An important verse to us is Psalm 128:2b, "Thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name."
