Our church is a Fundamental, Independent, Baptist Church. We are Fundamental in that we hold to the historic “fundamentals” of the faith which contrast with liberalism, modernism, and the Charismatic movement. We are Independent as we do not belong to any group, fellowship, affiliation, association, or convention. We are Baptist because we believe the Bible and hold to the historically distinct doctrines by which Baptists have been known.
Our manner of worship is traditional; our Bible (the King James Bible) is the pure word of God, and our gospel (the Lord’s gospel) is older than creation. We seek to please God rather than man and do not stray from these standards of worship, Bible, and gospel.
Thomas Howard became our pastor on February 7, 2016. He entered the ministry in 2006 when he joined the staff of Odenton Baptist Church (OBC) as an assistant to the pastor after leaving a government job that brought him to Maryland. He is a product of the Odenton Baptist Bible Institute, and was ordained by the church in May of 2009. Pastor Howard served as an assistant pastor in Claremore, Oklahoma, and then as the pastor of a church plant in Orwell, OH, before returning to OBC in October of 2015.
